1961 Fender 1000 D8
Holy Smokes Batman, it's the Holy Grail!
It would be difficult to overstate the significance of the first generation Fender pedal steels -- Leo Fenders original designs took the PSG from a novelty item to a mainstream instrument to be reckoned with. Despite an undercarriage not intended to accomadate the knee levers that would later become a standard, this is considerd by many to be the first mechanism capable of reliably raising and lowering the same string, and is a direct ancestor to todays modern all-pull changers.
This one is particularly special: it was the personal guitar of Fender rep and legendary steel player Jody Carver. According to the owner, he got it directly from Jody who had owned it since it was new, and it hasn't had a screw turned on it since leaving Jody's hands. The sunburst finish is beyond gorgeous, the chrome is still shiny, the tone is to die for, and the overall condition is near mint -- it really doesn't get any better than this. This is your chance to own a piece of history.
Includes original split cases and user manual.
